Figurine of the Dwarven Forge Aura faint transmutation; CL 5th; Slot none; Price 15,000 gp; Weight 1 lb. DESCRIPTION These stone and steel figurines depicting a forge and anvil are warm to the touch and give off a faint red glow. On command, the figurine enlarges to become a full-sized working forge with a magical fire burning within. The forge occupies a 10-foot-by- 5-foot area, and its transformation fails if sufficient space is unavailable. A second command word returns the forge to its original, miniature size. When a magic scroll containing a single spell is tossed into the forge, the scroll is consumed in flame. Thereafter, the forge and anvil provide that spell for the use of magic item creation in conjunction with Craft Magic Arms and Armor. This allows the crafter to use the stored spell as a prerequisite for multiple magic items. If a new scroll is consumed in the forge’s flame, it replaces the current spell. A spell remains available for use indefinitely until replaced. In addition, once per day, if touched to a melee weapon made primarily of metal as a standard action, the figurine grants that weapon the igniting special ability for 1 minute. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS Feats Craft Wondrous Item; Spells flame blade, heat metal, shrink item; Cost 7,500 gp Reference: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/e-g/figurine-of-the-dwarven-forge/

@daermadm said in Bow of the Solars: Specifically, items from the Book of Exalted Deeds (and Vile Darkness) are items that the gods pay attention to. I would expect that voyeur behavior from a certain alchemist, but I would think the Gods have better things to do than watch magic items from the Book of Exalted Deeds…some of them are not that impressive.

@daermadm said in Ring of Twinned Nine Lives: hat is the spell/cube level of this ? Well, heal is level 6th level or 6 spell points, and twin adds +4 (unless you use a spell breaker, alchemical augmentation, lens/amp implementation, or other means)… but for the sake of argument, let’s stick with the feat. So effectively a 10 spell point effect, so according to the handy dandy cube chart located on your friendly neighborhood obelisk, you can find that it’s a Steel Cube.

@daermadm said in Elemental Forge: Mortal a. Normal b. Epic Divine a. Demi b. Lesser c. Intermediate d. Greater Clockmaker DM Somewhere in this mix, there are floating around the space between Mortal and Divine you have the heroes and chosen examples like Rasingra, and Elisha. Additionally, there was the divine servants of the Gods such as Deva’s, Planetars, and Solars - can’t remember if there was another one in the mix there or not. Damar was a Plaentar for a great number of years before being invited to the forge of eternities, and eventually tricked mmm maybe more duped when Rorex and Damien decided to abscond all the beer and head to the Forge of Eternities themselves making Damar a Greater Forge God of the Dwarves. And then there is ole Ralax, who happily serves Istus the Greater Goddess of Fate, while chauffering around a dagger of power and its plinth.

@dwarf Well that was depressing, i had hoped over time maybe 5e would have had enough power creep to become interesting. Similar to 3.0E in the day, after a few years some of their later products started producing some interesting ideas. With that said, the 3.5E metamagic rods i never really found interesting or thematically liked. Just seemed lame, and Kargin did investigate what he called meta crystals that you could embed in wands, rods, and staffs. However shortly after that @dwarf brought up the concepts of lens’s and amp’s … and we just ran with that. Kargin also flirted with psicrystals, i do believe he has some prototypes specific for melee types, and some specific for caster types. There was a lot of interest but it typically fades fairly quickly because in order for them to work they need to be implanted into their spine or at the base of their skulls to hide the crystal, while others implant the crystal shard in their forehead, forming a mythical “third eye.” Some warriors tend to have them implanted into the hand or chest, often sporting custom-made armor to show off the crystal to their enemies. To implant and integrate the crystals into the various systems of the body (i.e. nervous, immune, etc…) requires the skills of an alchemist… and that is where Kargin loses them. Back to the drawing board.

Original reply from @halfgiant Should there be a general rule that a general magical staff regains 1 charge per hour, a +1 staff regains 2 charges per hour, a +2 3 charges per hour… and everything else outside of that would be by DM exception? I noticed the Staff of Withering regains 1 charge per 12 hours. Haven’t read the staff of withering, it may make sense not sure. Trying to keep it simple.
